real continuation, real immortality of the true self, does not desire itself, because it already is so. the root of all the ego’s cravings and desires come from a desperation to survive, to be known and to feel significant. or to feel alive in a way that compensates for a half-life. but the being does not need these things. the being does not desire survival, because the being survives in all things. the being existed before the body, the being exists when the mind is asleep, and the being will exist long after the body and the mind cease to be.
