reading “food of the gods” by terrence mckenna. he references the communication techniques of the octopus – how their linguistic intent and form are one and the same ((communication via colour//shape changes)) i’m thinking about how our own method of communication seems so clunky and ineffective in comparison. if we communicated like octopi would there be any room for the roles and farces we hide behind? i wonder. that’s an intimidating concept – if none of your thoughts, feelings, motives were kept in private. i’m on a quest to communicate like an octopus – to unify the external and internal expressions of “self.” in such a way that all that appears to the world is pure, unfiltered and truthful. i really think that’s all we can strive for – embodying truth. whatever that means for us.
