I’M PROUD OF MYSELF FOR:
getting sober.
this one still floors me. remember when all you would think about, all you would spend money and time on and all your friendships were built on was drugs??? how crazy is that? addiction is not an easy thing to tackle!!! especially when you refuse to accept help from other people lol! but you did it! your mind, body, spirit and future thank you for it every day.
getting healthy.
something you’ve been struggling with for so long. thank you for recognizing your self worth. you deserve to feel good. you are strong and can run and leap and bound and frolic and dance and feel good doing it. you are honouring your body and fuelling your mind by being active and facilitating a constructive flow of energy. from the food you put into your body all the way through to the actions you put into the world!
respecting and recognizing the self.
took a while to realize that shedding the ego does not mean neglecting the self! it is aligning with the self, listening to its needs and understanding it deeply, so as to shed any regard for external validation. to shed the ego is to know the self, to let it be affected only by your own perceptions and intuition. and love for the self then transcends the self and extends out to external entities and the universe as a whole. that is how to truly blend the self with others and the universe – from a place of love, kindness, respect for and patience with the self. proud for working through your relationship with yourself – in all its stages.
persistence.
in meditation, exercise, eating well, saving money and having the same conversations with yourself over and over and over again. you are working super hard to develop healthy habits. this feels like fundamental change.
striving to do good.
always trying to keep your heart in the right place, and keeping your intentions pure. you will get it wrong, inevitably. but all you can do it try! and continue to be conscious of your perception and your output.
